Olympic National Park features lots of amazing natural landmarks from temperate rainforests to majestic mountains, from lovely beaches to breathtaking waterfalls. This diverse national park offers something for everyone. Outdoor enthusiasts can enjoy the best hiking opportunities in the park. Second Beach Trail is one of the popular and favorite trails among hikers. The path leads through a beautiful coastal forest of Western Hemlock and Sitka Spruce trees.

This easy 1.9-mile trail provides excellent views along the way. It’s great for all ages. The best time for the hike is mid-spring till early fall. But during the summer months, the trail can be crowded. The place looks absolutely peaceful. This is a wonderful hike with easy elevation gain through the forest. Pets are not allowed on the trail. Hikers can enjoy the pleasant birds singing and magical nature.

The last part of the trail is a little bit challenging. There are switchbacks down to the beach. But it’s definitely worth the effort. To get to the beach you will have to climb over large logs. Take time to enjoy the coastline and experience the best tide pools.

The park boasts some of the beautiful beaches. Second Beach is a photographic place along the Olympic coast. It enchants with fascinating coastal scenery, crashing waves and unique sea stacks with trees growing on them.

The beach is a great spot for camping and sunset watching. If you want to stay at a campsite you need a Wilderness Camping Permit. The park attracts lots of visitors in summer and campsites are usually fill up fast.

There are huge pieces of driftwood spread around. Hikers can stroll along the beach and marvel at the Pacific Ocean. It’s a favorite beach among families, photographers, and nature lovers.
